Day 27 "B Squad"

Ok, man I suck at this picture a day thing1  I really need to get my act together!  LOL

I will continue as I have been, and will keep trying my best to get them out here daily.  (Yeah...)

Today I decided to show you guys a composition I did for a good friend of mine.  His name is Matt and he does Disc dog at a professional level.  He has been helping me teach my new puppy how to start doing freestyle and its actually because of him that we have Bokeh.

I loved his dogs so much I got my puppy from the same breeder as he did.

Day 26 "Gavin"

This is a shot of a Border Collie pup at the club named Gavin.  He is an awesome pup and very friendly.  I think he is actually around a year old now and will be starting his agility training soon.

Day 25 "The Barn" Final

Ok so after I added my final texture layer I merged everything down so it was a little more compressed size wise.  I also decided it was a tad to dark so I went back in and brightened it up, just a touch.  I also desaturated it just a hair, I like that for an old faded type of look, I think it can bring out a lot in an image.

Day 24 "The Barn" part 5

Ok so now that I decided to add some more "wear" to my image I do the same thing with my second texture.  I resized it in Corel, then adjust the Hue and saturation until it was pretty close to my first layer.  Added it as a new layer and then changed the blend mode to "Hard Light" and adjusted my settings on both texture layers until I thought they looked good.

Day 23 "The Barn" part 4

Ok, so now we get to the fun stuff!!

Once I get my image how I like it I open up the textures I want to use in Corel, after resizing them to the same size of my original image I paste them over as a new layer and adjust the blend mode and percentage until I get to what I like.  I did run into a small snag with this one however, after adding my first layer it was way to yellow/brown and didnt look good at all.  So I went back to the original image of my first texture and adjust the hue on it until I got to what I thought would look good. here is what I used:

Ok, so after all the Lightroom adjustments I send the image over to Corel Paintshop Pro X2.  I use this as its much cheaper the Photoshop and it works great for me.  I imagine I will upgrade to Photoshop at somepoint down the road though.

Ok once its in Corel I contimue making adjustments to the image.  Making it a tad brighter, adding a Soft Light Layer to add some more contrast, sharpening it up a tad and other small things like that.  All of those setting are really more personal preference so I wont go into my exact settings here.

After all those adjustments this is the image I have:

Day 23 "The Barn" part 2

Ok so I took my original image and opened it up in Adobe Lightroom.  I cropped the image so that the barn looked straight, I then added a custom preset I have that adjusts the exposure, contrast and adds a slight vignette to the edges.  Once that has applied itself I go in and make any small changes that I feel need to be made to the image.
